The Tony Pritchett Band was and still is Tony Cason, Don Dixon, David Gould, Kenny Head, Tim Newman, Tim Pritchett, Tony Pritchett & our sound man, Mike Hughes. This group of musicians has been playing music together since the late1970’s. It all started in Athens, GA, where they could play every night in a different club. In its various incarnations, they have opened shows for Leon Russell, David Allan Coe, John Hartford, Diamond Rio, John Anderson and many more. They have performed on concert stages, cruise liners in the Caribbean, honky tonks in Georgia, North & South Carolinas, Alabama and panhandle palaces in Florida. In Athens, Ga alone, they played Smoke's, T.K. Harty's Saloon, The Steam Company/Bixby's/The Melting Point, The Frog Pond Lounge, The Armadillo Palace, The B&L Warehouse, Uptown Lounge, 40 Watt, Abbott's, The Georgia Theater, The Morton Theatre, Poss' on Baxter, Ireland's Restaurant, Ember's Lounge, J&J Center, 5th Quarter East, Tyrone's O.C., Speak Easy, Mad Hatter, The Last Resort, Daddy's Dollar, Spirit's. Across the southeast, too many to mention.

The logo for the t-shirt, pictured at the top of the page, was designed by Pete Barkelew. The band released an album in 1980 titled The Tony Pritchett Band. At that time, the band members consisted of Tony Pritchett, Tim Pritchett, Phil Johnson & David Gould. Guest musicians on the album were Jay Smith, David Ray, Sique Eddie, Tony Cason, & Ivory Jack.Our friend Mike Dekle would also sit in regularly at many of the venues we played. Other musicians who were in the band, for a period of time, were Rick Dickson, Jay Smith, David Ray. Regular "sit in" friends were Sique Eddie, Harold Williams, Steve Davidowski, John Jarrard, Cal Hale, Randy Durham, Clarence Young.
